I wanted a pair of binoculars as an upgrade to my existing budget 8x40 so 10x50 seemed good and a well-known name was an assurance of quality at a bargain price. Unfortunately the optics are disappointing in terms of resolution and light transmission; overall not as good as the 8x40.
